While some may say that online school has been a blessing in disguise (which is true, in some aspects), others may be struggling. For many students, staying sane and healthy during online classes is a challenge.
I know I had trouble with almost every part of my daily student life– organizing homework, exercising regularly, staying mentally healthy… you name it. Luckily, I didn’t have to do this alone. And you don’t, either!
Amazon is your friend. There are over 12 million products on Amazon, and these 21 just happen to be perfect for students. Ready to make online school a breeze? Let’s get started!
Laptop stand
After sitting in front of your desk for a while, you might suddenly realize that you’re sitting like a shrimp. Your back is screaming at you to sit up straight, and your neck cracks at least 4 times when you look up.
A laptop stand will hold your laptop at eye-level, which means no more terrible posture and no more back or neck pain! Especially as online classes become the norm, a laptop stand should be on every student’s desk.
Bluetooth keyboard
As beneficial and necessary as laptop stands are, there is one disadvantage– your hands have to move up along with the laptop. If you’re content with typing with your hands not on the desk, then you’re good to go.
However, if you’re more comfortable with typing on solid “ground,” a Bluetooth keyboard is a must-have. A good keyboard should be easily compatible with any device, comfortable to use, and perfectly responsive. Check out this student favorite!
Desk lamp
I’ve mentioned desk lamps before in my other post, How To Effectively Study For Any Test, and I’m mentioning it again. A good desk lamp will save you so much eye strain, headaches, and frustration.
Being able to study in a comfortable space is key to being successful, and good lighting plays a huge part in that. Invest in a high-quality lamp now to avoid pain and suffering in the future (trust me, I know how it feels to study under terrible lighting).
Blue light glasses
Blue-light glasses are another old friend of mine on this blog. And if you don’t have blue-light blocking glasses yet, you’re promising yourself a lot of unnecessary eye strain and migraines.
If you didn’t know, electronic devices give off a significant amount of blue light. If it is not blocked, blue light can lead to headaches, insomnia, and even vision loss (though very rare). Luckily, it’s easy to prevent that. Simply put on a pair of blue-light glasses!
Alarm clock
Teachers during online school will have the full expectation that you will be on time for every class, every day. Whether that’s reasonable or not, you should try your best to do so! Plus, it’s a sheer courtesy you’re showing by showing up to class and participating.
A dependable alarm clock will be incredibly helpful in this case. An intelligent one is even better, so it can help you go to sleep or wake up naturally and/or how you want to.
Student planner
As much as I love reading inspirational quotes, they really don’t help me organize my life any better. Eventually, I grew tired of buying useless planners that I don’t even use and made my own.
The Ultimate 3-in-1 Planner is one made just for students. It includes pages to help with planning, goal-setting (short-term and long-term), habit-building, studying, organizing, and so much more. The best part? It’s only $12.
Of course, there are many available planners on Amazon as well. Simply give it a quick search!
Dry erase board
Sometimes, life goes a little too quickly to jot everything down in a planner. For example, you might have a sudden burst of inspiration but are not sure if it’s the best idea yet. In this case, why not write it down on a dry erase board?
A dry erase board is perfect for writing down quick notes and reminders for yourself to reference at a glance. And if you get a magnetic one, you can stick some papers and notes on there, too!

Bed desk
Though an organized desk is a much better choice when it comes to being productive, your bed can look pretty irresistible at times. So since we both know it’s going to happen anyway, why not make yourself comfortable?
A bed desk will keep your computer on a flat, solid surface as opposed to your lap, which is healthier (and probably more comfortable) for both you and your laptop.
Wireless printer
Before classes moved online, I relied almost completely on my school’s library and public printers. It quickly got inconvenient when I had to stay home. I realized that if I didn’t buy a printer quickly, my grade would get affected.
If you’re like me and have professors or teachers who love assigning worksheets, you need to invest in a high-quality, long-lasting printer. The HP OfficeJet series are very reliable and have some generous benefits (such as free ink delivery for the first 2 months).
Reusable water bottle
It’s easy to become dehydrated without even realizing it – especially when you’re sitting in the same place for half the day. A water bottle next to your desk is a great reminder for yourself to take a sip every so often.
And rather than relying on plastic bottles of water, go for the eco-friendly reusable option. Plus, some water bottles will even have lines on them showing you how much water you should’ve drunk already. How convenient!
Humidifier
Along with consuming enough water, keeping your environment at a healthy moisture level (is that a thing?) is essential for hydration. If your room/home is too dry, you could end up with tired eyes, dry skin, and a bloody nose (I know from experience).
I’m not really into fancy devices, so I really love this simple and minimalistic essential oil diffuser/humidifier. All you have to do is fill it with water, put in a few drops of essential oil if you want, and click a button. I can’t live without it!
Yoga mat
As much as you may dislike hearing it, I’m going to say it anyway. Exercise is necessary. However, you don’t need to go out running at 5 am everyday to stay healthy. Many students resort to yoga and pilates, which are low-impact exercises.
But of course, yoga isn’t very comfortable on hardwood or carpeted floors. A high-quality yoga mat will prevent injuries and fully maximize the potential and effects of yoga.
16 ft charging cord
I absolutely despise reaching for my charging cord and just falling short. That’s why I invested in a mega-long charging cord. It’s about 16 ft (5 meters) long, which sounds crazy, but is absolutely a lifesaver for someone like me.
I have an iPhone, so the product below is an iPhone charging cord. However, I’m sure there is a similar product out there for Androids! Search around, because once again, Amazon is your friend.
Bluetooth speaker
Whenever I have time, I love listening to music and dancing along. It’s an amazing way for me to relieve stress quickly and effectively, and I couldn’t fully enjoy it without my Bluetooth speaker.
Now, I know it’s tempting to grab a cheap speaker from the local department store and call it a day (I did this once). But you will not regret investing in a high-quality speaker from companies like Bose.
I have 2 Bose speakers – the Bose SoundLink Revolve and the Bose SoundLink Micro. I highly suggest the Micro for students, because it’s cheaper, smaller, and sounds just as nice as the other.

Bath salts
I love taking baths (although I’ve been too busy to take one recently). It’s a great way for me to relax after a long day and catch up on everything. But not only is bath-taking a great way to relax your mind, it has health benefits, too!
Bath salts are a great way to take care of your physical body while relaxing your mind, because they can:
- Moisturize skin
- Soothe pain
- Relax muscles
- Decrease inflammation
- And more!
LED strip lights
I may or may not be influenced by TikTok culture, but LED strip lights are a super fun and easy way to spice up your bedroom. They can change colors and controllable by remote, so it’s super easy to customize your bedroom’s vibes with these lights.
Plus, they’re very affordable! This full set of lights is very popular on Amazon, and has a super nice price tag.
Wall outlet shelf
Sometimes, you just need a couple of extra outlets and somewhere to put your device while charging it. This is where wall outlet shelves come in. They don’t damage the actual outlet at all and can solve all the problems I mentioned above.
Whether you’re charging a speaker, Amazon Echo Dot, iPad, or smartphone, a wall outlet shelf will be able to hold it securely and also provide extra outlets for other devices. Super convenient for students with too many things to charge and too little space.
Wall shelf
A wall shelf is exactly what it sounds like. A shelf on the wall. These are the perfect way to store some small or decorative objects that don’t seem to belong anywhere.
For students, wall shelves are great for books, plants, glasses, and clocks. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing, but it’s also incredibly easy to grab them when you need them!
Artificial plants
Nothing wrong with a little greenery in your home, right? If you find real plants too difficult to take care of, artificial plants are the choice for you. They look just as beautiful as real plants, but are much easier to maintain and transport.
This set of tabletop potted plants is great for students. They’re relatively small, so they’ll fit perfectly on your desk. And the glass pots are definitely a plus!
Real plants
If you have a green thumb, then real plants are a great choice for you! Especially if taking care of plants is a relaxing and enjoyable task for you to do, plants are a must-have for you.
Succulents are a popular choice, because they’re very low-maintenance and super cute. They’re also relatively small, so they’re a perfect addition to your desk as well! Another place to put them could be your bedside table, windowsill, or the wall shelf!
Handheld milk frothers
As a student, caffeine is a huge part of my daily life. I’m not an early bird by any means, so coffee is part of my diet in the mornings (and sometimes during the day). But of course, there’s nothing wrong with making my coffee a little fancier, right?
A handheld milk frother will make it super easy to create your own foamy cup of latte. Or, if you’re not a coffee person, you can use it to whip your hot chocolate or matcha!
Conclusion
I hope you found something helpful from this list! Perhaps a certain product is just calling your name and waiting for you. Comment below which one it is for you!
